1500 Shooting
Through
popular demand and the fact that the 1500 discipline is a 'hoot', Harlow
practical club is to give it a good bashing.
The last Friday of every month will be our 1500 night. (Check
the diary, Its the link labeled Diary, over there, on the left)
We intend
to shoot it with under levers, however if you haven't got one, then you can use
your .22 rifle.
The 1500 discipline
is pretty simple to grasp, basically you shoot 150 rounds, and each shot can be
worth 10 points, hey, do you recon that's where the 1500 bit comes in, doh!
 |
THE 1500 TARGET
(HPC Style)
The target size is about the size of an A3 sheet of paper
It is shot at from 50mts down to 10mts depending on the
course of fire, and range facilities.
Both the X and 10 rings are worth 10 points, The 9 ring is
worth 9 points and so forth. The X's are counted separately so in the
event of a draw it then goes on who shot the most X's.
You may only shoot the required amount of shots within the
set time given in the range briefing.
|
As
most of the Harlow members like to be different and coupled with the fact that a
couple of walls would need to be demolished to give us a 50mtr range, after much
deliberation we decided its best to stay within the confines of using the 25mtr
range. Not that there aren't members willing to carry out this work, its just
that the roof may drop a bit with the lack of walls, the rain would come in, the
heat would escape, and then the precision rifle boys would be really upset by it
all !!!
 |
So
the course of fire will have a maximum distance from the target of 25 mts and
the targets will be reduced in size to simulate viewing them at 50 mts. |
